Wanting what you can't have - AW13 Shopping List

Every season I make a mental shopping list... Sometimes I even make a list. So this season I thought I would share it with you and even be so kind as to make it a visual shopping list. Now RARELY do I end up with all the things on my list in my wardrobe, but this list is more of a guideline to choose from... Of course other things slip in as well, but the things on this list are things that have been on my mind for a month or more now, so they're not impulsive buys. Of course, as you may have predicted if you know me, the majority of the items on this list are shoes. And when I look at the collage I KNOW they look really similar to each other... But for some reason my brain has decided that they are all so different and all DESPERATELY needed in my shoe wardrobe... So no, I don't want one or the other with these, I want them all. As you can see I am aiming on flats this season, I want to be comfortable.

  1. The perfect leather jacket from Acne: Mape. I think it's around £1,000.
  2. A colourful coat. Love this pink one from By Malene Birger or this adorable blue one from Carven. They range between £400-£700 and they are both perfect colours for me.
  3. Celine ponyhair loafers in navy and black. Been wanting these since before the summer but for some reason I always choose to buy something else...?
  4. A pair of flat, black leather boots that go above the ankle so they are autumn and winter friendly. These are Alexander Wang and are around £450.
  5. The Alexander Wang Kori boots. Been on my list for about a year now... I want the heel to be in rose gold, for some reason that colour is appealing to me most... Around £400.
  6. Acne Alma in distressed suede. Just so cool and would liven up any outfit. Around £350?
  7. Isabel Marant Nowles Snow Boots. As I am moving back to Sweden, useful isn't even the right word to describe them... I suspect I will be living in them because between the comfort, heat and right level of coolness they literally are the perfect winter boots. £400 ish.
  8. Saint Laurent suede ankle boots. How perfect? The heel is great, just high enough to be considered a proper pair of heels but not high enough for them to be uncomfortable or annoying to walk in... Unfortunately these are around £600-£700 so they may need to wait until I win some kind of lottery...
  9. The cutest Marni necklace!!!! I have been wanting a Marni necklace for years and as I am trying to figure out my autumn wardrobe I drew the conclusion a statement necklace is obligatory and this one is perfect. £230.
  10. iPhone 5S in white and gold. My iPhone 4 (!!!) is falling apart and is probably the slowest phone used on this Earth today so needless to say I am in DESPERATE need of a new one. They range from £550-£800 I think...
  11. Nike Air Max Thea... I found these way too late and they are now sold out everywhere. It is slowly killing me because I would love a pair of everyday trainers to sport up some of my outfits. But I haven't quite given up yet so they will remain on this list.
  12. Velvet trousers. Don't know why but for about a month now they have just been something of interest... Saw a pair in H&M that weren't quite right but since then it's been like a definite on this list...

Actually, two of these things have already sneaked in to my wardrobe... To be revealed later. And two more are on their way... Or three more actually. One item on this list was ordered in to a store and arrived today, the other I am actively hunting down and the third is just a matter of waiting for. Snore.

As I was writing this... Two more things were added to my mental list... Or oh well, actually, three. Sometimes I can't deal with myself. There is something about that wanting what you can't have phenomenon that just gets to me, and I KNOW I can't have all of these bits but for some reason I just refuse to accept it. Oh how frustrating. Anyway, for those interested the 4 additions to my list are:

  1. A perfect everyday gold necklace. I have my eyes on either the bone necklace or the BangBang necklace from Maria Nilsdotter. £200+.
  2. A perfect everyday gold bracelet. I have my eyes on the bone bracelet from Maria Nilsdotter...
  3. Uggs. I know they don't make a fashion statement but when I am walking my dog in the 1.5 metre snow in Sweden I am more concerned about surviving....

When in Paris....

... Shop French designer wear. Well not quite but these two pieces from Isabel Marant are definitely on my list. Been shopping a lot lately (show you when I get back to London) so I've decided on an unofficial shopping-stop for the near future... But we will see. Paris Fashion Week has been exhausting, long and busy so maybe I will treat myself... Anyway, 100% silk with little stars, around £200 each.

Acne accessories

Went to the Acne store a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with some accessories... The bag - black and leather, perfect. Maybe an autumn investment? And the Estelle shoes - love. Perfect for summer, and everyday shoes but with height... So pretty, comfortable and usable. And finally the Azalea shoes, no secret that I'm in love with them...

Needless to say I left the store drooling and now, a few weeks later... Maybe one or two things are in my closet... To be continued...

B

B for busy, which is what I have been because it is exam and deadline season. However, my last exam is tomorrow and my essay is all handed in and although I have family coming to visit and a lot of things planned in for the next two weeks, I am hoping you will see a few more posts, but no promises...

B is also for Balenciaga who in my eyes literally never fail... I mean look. Die.

Marni for H&M

Oh yay! Finally more about the Marni collection for H&M!! Out in stores on the 8th of March and I am in love. I have always had a thing for Marni, don't know why but there's something that just draws me to the design, the prints, the colours and the general look... Here is a collage of my favourites but this is seriously the time I wish I had money. The collection is a nice collected one with lovely materials like wool, silk and patent leather. And Marni, as always, does not disappoint with accessories. I will be queuing!

on my christmas wish list...

... are these cool wooden heels. Remind me of some Jeffrey Campbell shoes but I don't know where these are from, picture from Frida Fahrman. So much studying these days that I've just been in comfy clothes at home - hence the lack of personal pictures... But exam is tomorrow so hopefully the days won't get dark too quickly from here on, allowing me to take a few outfit photos...

First of December

Pic: Carolina Engman

First day of December and I am wishing for this red sweater. I really want a red sweater and this one from H&M Trend might be it. I wasn't sure about the sides being cut like they are but Carolina just makes it work - so I am determined to too...

Lilly Marthe Ebener

The Vogue editor Lilly Marthe Ebeners alpaca and merino wool blended knits are definitely cosy... On my christmas list is definitely the light ice-blue sweater but I love the orange and yellow colours too...

how cute?

Picture from Sania Claus

I have a beloved iPhone case from Mulberry. It is so perfect with its sleek exterior and quality leather. But when I see this Balenciaga case I just die a little. How cute!?!? Maybe it doesn't hurt to have two iPhone cases? I mean after all, its like a bag, an accessory, and technically you should have several of those so you don't use the same one all the time...?

... this Zara coat...!? I don't have a grey one and I like how this one has leather sleeves... I'm also looking at fur coats. And I found this other coat at Topshop that I loved but when I went back to buy it it was sold out. Haven't come back in stock since :-(

At the moment I am doing some work - looking through magazines, paying bills and doing general to do stuff that I don't have time for during the week. Including blogging. Pop in later for a detail shot from earlier on this week...

... a big sweater to match with lose trousers.... This one is apparently from Zara... Speaking of Zara, it is them I am writing my essay on, so expect some "did you know" post soon... :-)

seeing stars

Acne, Rika, Topshop, Zara

I have never been a huge fan of Rikas stars and when I first saw Acnes SS 2012 collection I was not ecstatic... But as it turns out the stars are quickly growing on me and I find myself wanting to buy everything with star-quality ;-) Too bad I'm broke... As always... Saving up for a very expensive christmas present to myself!

a few years late

Remember the hype a year or two ago about sequined leggings? Well I just caught on now and really want this pair from Reiss... How nice are they to dress down with a casual A. Wang t-shirt and big cardigan? Too bad my budget is saying N. O...

Wow. I die right now. How beautiful is Balenciagas S/S 2012 collection? I hope the high street stores find some way to make budget copies of these beauties... Love.

on my mind

Navy coat from Filippa K, long navy skirt from Acne, striped skirt from Acne and cashmere camel-coloured pullover from Filippa K

Fuzzy sweaters from Acne and Whyred (courtesy of Columbine)

1. Acne Shank boots
2. Filippa K Mohair cotton pullover
3. Topshop Anika hairy boots
4. Whyred Flora sweater
5. Acne Himalaya burgundy bag
6. Topshop fluffy stitch top
7. Topshop Kingston black contrast Eva sole brogues
8. Acne Caesar boots
9. Topshop activate platform hairy boots
10. Rodebjer Halley M clutch

Well here you have what is on my mind at the moment. Spending a slow, sunny, summer-going-into-autumn Sunday at home and checking out some clothes and accessories for the new season. Although I have diligently been updating my autumn wardrobe there are a few things left on my wish list that aren't mine yet. Most of the things are not in my possession because my wallet has prevented it from happening, but some just haven't found their way yet.

For example the Whyred Flora sweater - completely out of stock in all of Sweden, and they will not be getting a refill.

As for the two pairs of hairy boots from Topshop, I am debating in which pair to buy. I tend to like chunkier heels but at the same time I feel like the ones with the thin heel are nicer overall.

Now the burgundy Himalaya bag from Acne - how amazing? I feel like burgundy is definitely THE colour this autumn, and I have been looking at Mulberrys range of burgundy bags but this one from Acne is truly amazing. Maybe it can be my christmas gift to myself? I could buy it on sale...

On another note - don't you just love the Topshop brogues, feel like they are a bit Prada s/s 2011 inspired... Don't know if they really go with my style otherwise, but I am strangely drawn to them...

So yeah, that is what is on my mind this sunday... Last sunday in sweden for a while by the way - less than a week left 'til London!! Woohoo woohoo
